1. Overview
Welcome to Beep Me, a mobile application available on iOS and Android that enables users to identify and communicate with other vehicle owners using licence plate numbers. By accessing or using the Beep Me application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
These Terms are between you and Beep Me, a British company. We reserve the right to make modifications to these Terms to reflect changes or enhancements to the Services, legal requirements, or security concerns. We will provide reasonable prior notice of any material modifications.
2. Eligibility
You must: be at least 18 years old; provide accurate and complete registration information; and successfully complete identity verification (KYC). We reserve the right to refuse access to any user who does not meet these requirements.
3. Account Registration
To use the App, you must create an account using email and password, Google authentication, or Apple authentication. As part of registration, you are required to provide your name and surname (not publicly visible), email address (not publicly visible), nickname (publicly visible), vehicle licence plate number, proof of motor insurance, and a valid identification document for KYC verification.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not create multiple accounts, share your account or password with anyone, or select a username impersonating another person. We reserve the right to suspend and ban users for breach of these Terms.
4. KYC and Identity Verification
To ensure safety, prevent fraud, and verify vehicle ownership, Beep Me requires identity verification. You agree to provide a government-issued ID (passport or driving licence) and valid proof of insurance. We may use third-party providers to conduct identity verification, including biometric checks where applicable.
Failure to complete KYC verification may result in account suspension, restricted access, or permanent account termination should you fail to provide the required documents within 14 calendar days.
5. Services Provided
Beep Me offers driver-to-driver communication via licence plate search, notifications related to vehicles (e.g. parking issues, emergencies), and optional reminders (e.g. insurance expiration alerts). We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time.
6. User Interactions
Users can communicate only via in-app chat. No voice or phone communication is allowed. Users can be contacted only if their licence plate number or nickname is known. Chats are private between participants — messages are only visible to the parties involved. Users may disable notifications at any time. We implement measures to enhance privacy, including restricting screenshots where supported.
7. Rules and Restrictions
You agree not to use the App for unlawful purposes; harass, threaten, or abuse other users; impersonate another person; attempt unauthorised access to accounts or systems; use the App to facilitate illegal activities; infringe or violate another person's intellectual property rights; engage in fraudulent, deceptive or defamatory conduct; or run any form of automated scraping or spam.
Violation of these rules may result in removal or restriction of access, cancellation of your subscription, or suspension/termination of your account. We reserve the right to cooperate with legal authorities where criminal activity is suspected.
8. Subscription and Payments
The App operates on a paid subscription model. Payment must be made in advance for the selected subscription period. Fees are stated in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable. Fees are non-refundable except where required under applicable UK law or agreed in writing by both parties. The Company reserves the right to change pricing; such changes will not affect any already paid subscription period. Subscriptions automatically expire unless renewed.
9. Consumer Rights (UK Compliance)
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you are a consumer, you may have the right to cancel certain digital services within 14 days of purchase under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
10. Disclaimer
BeepMeApp is not a law enforcement service, does not guarantee the identity or behaviour of users, and does not replace official reporting to authorities. Users are responsible for reporting crimes (including stolen vehicles) to the appropriate authorities. This app does not replace police reports.
11. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to this, the Company shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, data or business opportunities, service interruptions outside our reasonable control, or actions or conduct of other users.
12. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, and technology within the App are owned by Beep Me or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and make personal, non-commercial use of the App. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit any part of the App without prior written consent.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to complete verification requirements, or we suspect fraudulent or illegal activity. You may terminate your account at any time; however, no refunds will be provided for unused subscription periods unless required by law.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy. We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties, except where required for identity verification or legal compliance.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
If you are a resident of a country in the European Union, these Terms will be governed by the laws of such country and applicable EU Regulations. If you are a resident outside the European Union, they will be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to either the courts of England and Wales or the courts of the place where you are domiciled in the EU. Disputes may also be settled by arbitration where both parties agree.
16. Force Majeure
Neither party will be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including force majeure, war, terrorism, pandemics, fire, floods, or acts of civil or military authorities.
17. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the App or via email.
